- New places to sit and rest throughout the study area
- Improved management of existing and new public places, particularly Trafalgar Square
- Improved access for disabled people around the areas and into individual buildings
- Better information and facilities for visitors to understand and appreciate heritage sites and ceremonial events in the area
- Potential for new public art and improved setting and information about existing sculptures and statues
- Replacement of surface materials for pavements, roads and kerbs with higher quality materials to reflect the character and importance of the area
- Remove unnecessary road markings
- A consistently high standard of design for street furniture - traffic lights, signs, guard rails, bollards, street lights, bus shelters, litter bins, seats
- New refreshment facilities either within the existing buildings or newly designed kiosks in appropriate locations.
