Pedestrians
- New paved space throughout the area, equal to twice the present pedestrianised area of Trafalgar Square
- Better access to buildings and public spaces, particularly Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square. Use of Squares transformed by better links
- More direct routes, reduced walking times and fewer delays
- Widened pavements in Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall
- Richmond Terrace widened to connect Downing Street more strongly to the River
- Improved connections between Trafalgar Square and the new Hungerford Bridge
