The work Erik Magnussen has produced for FSB exudes the functional Nordic reserve that is his hallmark. Predictably, he insisted on using stainless steel as his point of departure. He has folded flat strips of stainless steel to fashion implements for opening doors, windows and drawers that are startlingly different. His design recalls the wing-beat of a Nordic seagull and, indeed, the collection is now winging its way onto the architectural scene. It comprises two lever handles, a narrow backplate, roses, three window handles, two cabinet knobs, a doorstop, a sturdy pull for timber, metal and glass doors and a quite delightful clothes hook.
