Frank Gehry
Would you believe that this is the first exhibition by Gehry in the UK? The show includes actual worktables from his Santa Monica office littered with sketches and multi coloured process models so beloved of the Canadian architect. The Inflatable Moment
Pneumatics and Protest in 68
Blow up furniture is all the rage again, but few know that the inflatable movement started as a political protest. This show harks back to the radical designs of the Paris based Utopie group whose members included critic Hubert Tonka and a pre post-modern Jean Baudrillard. Their work went beyond simple domes to complex multi-storey housing with plumbing and electricity!

Living Room
The Residential Building as an Artistic Salon
A group of German architects and artists are to rebuild a dilapidated timber structure in Gelnhausen, but completely transform its interior. This sounds like no Home Front makeover - the new building will boast terraces, gazebos, bridges and galleries. An accompaning talk is planned - see London lectures for details.

The Golden Age
Artists explore the industrial and paternal world fast disappearing. Graham Fagen has made a mock TV documentary about a fictional Scottish housing scheme using interviews with residents, architects and planners to paint a picture of social control and isolation. Neo Rauch's paintings show the world in which he grew up - the machine shops, petrol stations and offices of the former GDR.
