It is a leading global manufacturer of curtain and blind systems, including Venetian blinds. The business was built from the 1952 invention, by an ingenious Swiss engineer, of the first silent curtain track system. Silent Gliss offers four categories of Venetian blind: Cord Operated, Wand Operated, Chain Operated, and Electric Operated. The Cord Operated Venetian Blinds allow a single cord to raise and lower the slats, and also to tilt them. It is available with wood slats (25mm or 50mm) or with aluminium slats (50mm). A matching slat is inserted into the head rail, avoiding the need for a bulky valance. All Cord Operated Venetian Blinds are made to measure, and are offered with left or right hand operation. The 50mm versions are available with fabric tapes instead of strings, and the wooden slats can be made flame retardant for an extra charge.
